Dim Sum and then some.

Updated: Sep 15, 2024

With one more day in D.C. we committed to make the most of it. Dim Sum was something Justin and I had always wanted to try so we hoped over to China Town to a place called Ping Pong. Inexperienced as we were we went with a fixed prix for four. It was enough food for 6! Holy cow. But we got to try lots of little morsels. Some that looked and tasted delicious and some that were one but not the other as it turns out.

I wanted to get everyone to most of the monuments but with the weather getting to the 90s before 10 in the morning I knew we weren’t going to make it on our feet. So we signed up for a bike tour. It was perfect. Although we were still dripping by the end (not from exertion but just existing in that kind of heat) it was the only way we could have managed. I am not sure we would have survived on foot. A good decision to say the least. Remind me not to do that again until the winter. The kids even earned a Junior Ranger badge along the way.

To escape the heat, afterward, we headed to the outdoor sculpture garden at the National Art museum to dip our feet in the fountain and then spent some time in the air conditioning looking at art and eating ice cream.
